Welsh National Wedding Awards || Mantone's

I can't believe it's the last day of June and we're only just beginning to have the nice weather, this is bad form even for Wales.

It's a family affair here at Once upon a North Wales Wedding today. Mantone's took the trophy home in the Best Venue Dresser category last year and are hoping for your vote to help them do the same this November. 

Trading name?

Mantones - The Trading name is a combination of Mandy and Tony’s names – They are both Husband and Wife who started the business back in 2000!   Originally the business started off as a Balloon Shop, which they opened in the town of Abergele and both trained to be Certified Balloon Artists. From then on the business has escalated into providing Chair Covers, Dressing such as Fairylight Curtains and Drapes, Centerpieces, Wedding Stationery such as Invitations and Tableplans, Bridal Flowers – Real or Artificial, favors, Balloons, Sweetie Carts and Wedding Cakes.  

We are a family run business and were all as mad as each other!! 

Mandy Lynch (The Mum) – Owner of The Business, Wedding planner and Venue Dresser 

Tony Lynch – (The Dad)  - Venue Dresser and Deliverer - We call him our “Gofer” ! 

Mel Lynch (Youngest Daughter) – Showroom Manager and Venue Dresser (A Mini Mandy!!)

Amy Lynch – (Oldest Daughter) – Venue Dresser and overall helper (Amy Also runs her own Wedding Videography Business and was Shortlisted Last year for Best New Business in the Welsh National Wedding Awards)

Darius Williams (Mel’s Boyfriend) – Venue Dresser and Overall Helper – Recently joined the mad life of Mantones!

Where you are based?

We are based in Rhyl – We have a Showroom on Vale Road (Before you go other the Bridge to get into the Town) – We try to have it open as much as possible but towards the Weekend this can be difficult due to the amount of weddings we are looking after that week!

Your proudest achievement so far this year?

Our Proudest Achievements are when we receive such amazing positive feedback from our lovely Bride and Grooms; it absolutely makes our day to hear their comments. It is just so lovely to be able to discuss ideas with our brides even two or three years in advance, and to then see them finally get married at the end of it all it is just amazing. We are there through their ups and their downs, their excitements and their “Bridezilla” moments as we call them!

We are also so proud to again be nominated this year for the Welsh National Wedding Awards, it means so much to us and a big thank you to everyone who has voted for us so far! We were so thrilled to of won last year, it was such an amazing feeling to be recognized for our work, We don’t usually go for the awards as we are usually just so busy decorating the weddings but Mel was the one going for it as she had decided to work full time for Mantones with Mandy. Unfortunately last year we were late for the awards ceremony in Swansea and we didn’t get to go on stage to receive our award! We had Bar Tickets for the night as we had missed the ticket deadline for the sit down meal as we were so busy concentrating on our weddings, when we arrived in Swansea, we checked into our hotel and we were all getting ready as fast as we could!! We thought that everyone would have the meal first and then the award ceremony would start, but it was the other way around.. We were all nearly out of the door when we got a text from our Lovely Friends Mike and Carol from Acacia flowers Valley to say “Congratulations” we all then looked at each other in shock and then texted back “What? Did we win?!! To which he replied “yes you won!!” Where are you?”, Well from that moment, we completely screamed the hotel down!!  We were so excited, it really was such a fantastic moment and if anyone had a video camera in the room I would of loved to of watched it all back over) We also had a call from our lovely friend Karen from Go In Luxury Wedding Cars to say a big congratulations and to ask “Where the blumming were we”. It was a great night.

Which category should we nominating you for you?

We do anything and everything to decorate a wedding, so we fit into many of the categories but primarily we are venue dressers and this is the category we won last year and would love to win again this year. 

We are very proud to work in the North Wales area also with so many lovely suppliers, we have a long list of recommended suppliers who have also been our friends in the industry for many years, We are also honored to be recommended suppliers of Hotels we work very closely with such as The Oriel Hotel in St Asaph, The Beaches Hotel in Prestatyn and The Kinmel Hotel in Abergele who we do all of their wedding packages for. At Mantone's, our ultimate aim is to give all of our Bride and Grooms the wedding that they have always dreamed of. A wedding that reflects their unique personality and style. A wedding that themselves and their guests will delight in and remember for many years to come.
