I am so glad for the blog right now because I know I don't have a chance to watch anything I want on TV while the World Cup is on. Where are all my fellow Football widows?
The gentleman featured in today's Supplier Profile is no stranger to Once Upon a North Wales Wedding; it was his Engagement session we shared with you on Wednesday and he was also the man behind the camera for Carl & Delyth's wedding a few weeks ago. If you frequently attend weddings the chances are you've been to one where he's been the photographer (I know I have, way back in 2008) and with an extensive portfolio filled with stunning wedding images - it's easy to see why he's one of our finest.
My name is
Tony Fanning and I am a husband, a father, a chocaholic and a full-time
professional wedding photographer based in Colwyn Bay in beautiful North Wales.
I want to
tell the story of a couple in love. You know, the story of two
people meeting randomly, falling in love and making that life long commitment
to stay together forever.
It does not matter if there are two guests or two hundred. A big
swanky country house wedding or a small and intimate affair with just your
closest family and friends. I want to be there from the early morning nerves
with the hairdresser all the way to the ever so slightly embarrassing dad
dancing moments in the evening. It is all important, all moments you want to
remember. Forever.
Spending time with two families on such a momentous day is a true privilege. What could be better than seeing people having a good time for a living? I cannot think of anything I would rather do.

My love of photography started many many years ago (too many to
remember really). Starting off with film cameras, taking pictures for fun. Then
as the years progressed I started doing portraits for family and friends. I
always stayed well away from weddings, knowing the importance of every single
shot. It all had to be perfect, all the time. I did not want that
responsibility. Obviously, in the end I was asked and asked to do a wedding for
a friend. I remember being almost too nervous to drive to the ceremony, I was
shaking that much!
It was such a buzz though. A real adrenalin rush. Now I do it most weeks, still with that nervous buzz before I go but I know it will be a great day :)
My style? Relaxed and subtle storytelling. I do like to create a couple of "hero shots" from each wedding. You know, the shots that make you go wow!
I was voted WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR in 2011, and shortlisted in 2012 and 2013 for North Wales in the Welsh National Wedding Awards.
