Am I the only one confused about which day's we're on this week? The Bank Holiday has completely thrown me. But here we are it's Wednesday again which can only mean one thing - Real Weddings Wednesday. Today we have Carl & Delyth who were married on the 19th April of this year at Bryn Ebeneser Chaper, Glan Conwy - their reception was held at the beautiful Ruthin Castle Hotel.
How did you meet?
On our teaching degree
Tell us about the proposal...
We went on
holiday to Mexico and had Carl had pre-booked a couple of excursions, including
swimming with Dolphins in the sea. It was a fantastic experience and Carl even
organised for us to enjoy the experience exclusively for us two, with no other
tourists. One of the activities involved throwing a small rubber doughnut ring
out to sea for the dolphins to catch in their nose and bring back. This rubber
ring had a little compartment attached, usually full of little fish for the
dolphins to snack on. As Delyth threw the ring out to sea the Dolphin brought
it back on his nose, and she was asked to open the little compartment on the
rubber ring…only to find an engagement ring in it. Then in in true tradition,
Carl got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
And your gorgeous Dress...
The dress was picked out with the
help of my three best friends (bridemaids). The designer is Ellis Bridal.
What about the Grooms suit and Bridesmaid dresses?
The charcoal grey suits were chosen by Carl because he wanted tails on the blazers for all of the groomsmen. Carl wore a slight variation of the rest of the groomsmen, wearing an ivory waistcoat, to match his bride.

Why did you choose your venue?
Chapel – this is where my whole
family and I were christened and where my sister and I attended Sunday school
and sang at Christmas services for the local community.
Reception – this was chosen by Carl
before he proposed as he wanted a venue that reflected part of my welsh
heritage. Both venues were perfect in our eyes. The chapel service was so
intimate and relaxing and Ruthin Castle hotel offered luxury with a homely and
welcoming feel, perfect for us both!
Why did you chose your Photographer?
Our photographer was the best accident that happened during the planning of our wedding. We originally booked a photographer from Liverpool, local to where we currently live, however the company went into liquidation one week prior to the wedding. Carl organised for us to travel back to North Wales to find a replacement and when we met Tony Fanning, we were blown away by his beautiful portfolio, his experience and his professionalism, not to mention his sympathy for our situation. We were looking for a photographer who could take informal documentary-style photographs, that captured the precious moments of our day... The results were perfect!

How would you describe the theme/ style of your wedding?
Shabby-chic / vintage elements with
a relaxing feel, full of Welsh tradition, for all of the Liverpudlians to
experience.
What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole day was the best ever; however a personal highlight for us both was the wedding ceremony itself. The service felt very intimate and was delivered bilingually. We also organised for a local choir, Cor Alaw, to perform. Not only did they uplift the hymns that we all sang, they sang so beautifully during the signing of the register. They created such a warm, happy atmosphere and made my family and I feel very proud to be Welsh. All of the guests were clearly taken aback by their talents and everyone congratulated them on how fantastic they were. They were inspirational!

What was the best wedding planning advice you were given and do you have any
tips for our future Bride & Grooms?
Give yourself plenty of time to plan
and set aside certain parts of the year where you will focus on certain parts
of the planning. I wouldn’t recommend dedicating every weekend to it as it
could get too intense and become mundane. One of the must dos, is to get lots
of inspiration and advice from friends and family who have recently married, as
they provide invaluable tips on what went well, where to get the best bargains
and what they didn’t do but wish they had!
Where did you Honeymoon?
As teachers, we have not had an
opportunity to have a honeymoon yet, however we have booked to spend three
weeks in Thailand and Borneo over the summer holidays.
Now let's hear from the Photographer...
We had such a great
time at Del and Carl's wedding. They are such a fun and relaxed couple who were
up for anything.
All the planets
aligned that day- The perfect couple, the perfect venue, perfect weather for
the bride and groom portraits with plenty of time to do it all.
Carling don't do
wedding day's, but if they did......... :)
