My last day in work before Maternity leave in August was manic. We'd hosted a lovely wedding the day before. Everything the Bride & Groom had chosen for their day was stunning. The Dress, their colour scheme, their flowers...everything went smoothly after months of careful planning. We were still enjoying the amazing weather we were blessed with early last summer. As I watched the Bride sit back on the terrace laughing with friends in the sun it was a bitter-sweet moment; I was so happy that I’d played a part in her happiness that day - but heartbroken that it would a long while before I get to be part of a wedding again.
I was leaving at the height of wedding season when it was full on and back to back - every wedding planners dream.
I was leaving at the height of wedding season when it was full on and back to back - every wedding planners dream.
What do I love about Weddings? Well that’s easy - EVERYTHING. The dresses, the suits, the flowers, the centrepieces, the cake, the speeches, the Disco - the whole shebang.
I miss it.
I still read the blogs that I started to follow while we were planning our Wedding, I love how all the Weddings they feature are completely different. But the thing is they're all based in England. What about our Brides & Grooms here in North Wales? Or the People we enlist in making our Wedding days the elaborate events they become. Do we not have stunning venues and amazing backdrops to our photographs? Wouldn't it be amazing if you read the blog and were to happen across a venue you've never considered or a supplier you've never heard of and they were all within easy reach.
I hope to be able to bring the best from the North Wales Wedding scene directly to your inbox, but if you've discovered a jem that you think I may have missed then please let me know.
So if you're currently planning your Wedding or maybe you just love Weddings - I hope you’ll like my new little blog. If you've already had your Big Day maybe you’d like to inspire our future Brides and share your wedding secrets?
Enjoy the bank holiday,
Gemma
